Sewn into a sea of tiny blue flowers

Some recent pictures from my little world...

Today's rays from the sun fell down on us illuminating out across a welcome blue sky.  Isn't it nice to just gaze up at the vastness of the sky when it is like this? feeling the warmth on your skin and imagining how far it really goes on up there! So vast and endless is space it makes it even more amazing that down here on earth there is so much intricate beauty in these teeny tiny flowers and well, everything around us...  I wonder what other sorts of planets there are out there... and with suns just far away enough to give them life, to give them little blue flowers...

This little yellow polka dot halter top I am making is going to be really darn cute.  The stitching I have been doing has been at its best, it's amazing how much you can get sucked into hand stitching things.  Determined to make each little stitch the same perfect short and sweet length as the last one.  I am hankering to do some embroidery but I haven't done it in over ten years and have totally forgotten all the little techniques!  I'll steal lessons from my mother soon as I'm having day dreams of floral details on items....

Have a great weekend, here's to the sunshine and it's healing rays!

Hidden from view

Some recent pictures from my little world...

We went for a little walk today as the weather was too nice to resist it!  I took my holgaroid and we both took lots of pictures in the warm spring sun amongst all the emerging flowers and birds.  This is one of the skirts I have made from vintage fabrics and vintage garments, I like this one a little too much to sell!  We shall see!  I sure could get used to this decent warm weather!

Where the flowers blossom

Some recent pictures from my little world...

I wish for lots of lovely sunshine rays to fall over Scotland without a cloud in sight to cover us cold! x

Rigolette cherchant à se distraire en l'absence...

...de Germain.  Or as google translates it: Rigolette seeking to distract the absence of Germain.  This 1844 Joseph Désiré Court oil painting reeks of Romanticism but in a way that's right up my street.  As soon as I saw this picture I was drawn to it.  This is what I have been up to this week!  Not distracting myself from the absence of Germain but, sewing to distract myself from the frustrations of my knee injury!  I have made a few skirts from some lovely vintage fabrics that were passed down to me, and right now I am making a sweet spring/summery dress!

It has been quite frustrating what with the blue sky and warmer, or shall I say milder, (as I am in Scotland and I doubt anyone else would call this warm!) weather, all I want to do is go for nice big walks but my knee can't really take it!  At least there is the garden, which is full of life appearing!  I can go and sit with the cats!  Speaking of cats...

It's so wonderful to have this wee tiny lady follow me about all day, every day, meawing her little heart out, bossing me about, telling me exactly where she wants me to sit and exactly when to scratch her cute head and so on... She is normally way too fast for ANY of my cameras!  This girl is fast and agile!  But haha!  I won!  A picture!  This is Cecil, she pretty much owns me!  Have a great weekend, let's hope the sun shines from New Zealand to Edinburgh!

On a day they call Mother's day...

Here's to mine!  She does the sweetest screen printing and made me this wonderful top! Look at the sweet little bees!

One day I will make her something equally amazing! :) x
