Rigolette cherchant à se distraire en l'absence...

...de Germain.  Or as google translates it: Rigolette seeking to distract the absence of Germain.  This 1844 Joseph Désiré Court oil painting reeks of Romanticism but in a way that's right up my street.  As soon as I saw this picture I was drawn to it.  This is what I have been up to this week!  Not distracting myself from the absence of Germain but, sewing to distract myself from the frustrations of my knee injury!  I have made a few skirts from some lovely vintage fabrics that were passed down to me, and right now I am making a sweet spring/summery dress!

It has been quite frustrating what with the blue sky and warmer, or shall I say milder, (as I am in Scotland and I doubt anyone else would call this warm!) weather, all I want to do is go for nice big walks but my knee can't really take it!  At least there is the garden, which is full of life appearing!  I can go and sit with the cats!  Speaking of cats...

It's so wonderful to have this wee tiny lady follow me about all day, every day, meawing her little heart out, bossing me about, telling me exactly where she wants me to sit and exactly when to scratch her cute head and so on... She is normally way too fast for ANY of my cameras!  This girl is fast and agile!  But haha!  I won!  A picture!  This is Cecil, she pretty much owns me!  Have a great weekend, let's hope the sun shines from New Zealand to Edinburgh!
